Grain markets spent much of last week digesting Tuesdays USDA WASDE report- the result of which was lower trade across the Ag sector with corn, wheat and soybeans all scoring fresh contract lows.

Global wheat markets have been steadily rising since hitting a low of 463USc/bu in early September on the December contract. Following a high of 531.50USc/bu in early October, wheat is currently range bound within 510-525USc/bu.

Funds edge wheat higher

While harvest gets into full swing here in Australia, fresh fundamental news has been fairly thin for US markets. Wheat managed to finish last Friday near a 2 week high, predominantly due to fund short covering as well as a sharp drop in the US dollar.
